Cashback terms
Version 2026.09-2 · effective 01 Sep 2026
How a cashback amount is calculated, checked and paid — and the conditions under which it can change. These terms are linked from every rate LotsBack publishes.
01What cashback is
Cashback is a share of the cost you already pay your broker, returned to you per eligible lot. It is calculated from volume, not from the result of a trade: a losing position produces the same cashback as a winning one of the same size.
02The published rate
Each broker programme has a version, an effective date, a rate model and a set of conditions. The rate that applies to a position is the version published at the moment the position closed.
A rate is never published without its conditions and its effective date. Where a programme has volume tiers, the tier boundaries and the window they are measured over are published with it.
03Eligibility conditions
A position is eligible only if all of the following hold:
- The position is closed. Open positions are never eligible.
- The instrument is in the broker programme and is not on its excluded list.
- The account type is one the programme covers.
- The position is at or above the programme's minimum size and was held at or above its minimum hold time.
- The trading account has been attributed to LotsBack by the broker.
- The programme is offered in your jurisdiction.
04States and what they mean
An amount moves through named states: Estimated · provisional, Verifying with broker, Verified, Available, Reserved for payout, Processing payout and Paid, with On hold, Rejected and Payout failed as side states.
Only Available is money. An Estimated or Verifying amount is provisional and can be corrected or rejected at verification. Every change is written as its own ledger line with a reason; a balance is never adjusted silently.
05Verification and cycles
Cycles close weekly. After a cycle closes, its lines are matched against the broker's own report, usually within 3 business days. A line that matches becomes Verified. A line that does not becomes an exception that a person reviews.
A cycle is approved by an operator who did not resolve its exceptions, then released in a separate step. Release is what makes an amount Available.
06Payouts
You request a payout from your Available balance to a destination you added yourself, as an asset and network pair — for example USDT · Ethereum. Each network has a published minimum.
LotsBack pays the network fee. Payout runs happen twice a week. Every payout has a receipt with the positions it came from, the rate version applied, the destination and the transaction hash.
If a transfer fails, the amount returns to Available with an explicit failure line.
07Corrections, clawbacks and holds
Where a broker report corrects a position after a line was released, LotsBack records an adjustment with the reason and the source. A negative adjustment is never taken from an amount already paid out; it is applied to future lines.
A line may be placed On hold during a compliance or reconciliation check. The reason is always shown next to it.
08Changes to a programme
A broker may change or withdraw a programme. A change produces a new programme version with its own effective date, and applies only to positions closed on or after that date. Positions already closed keep the version they were priced under.
09No guarantee
Cashback is not a guaranteed amount. It depends on your own volume, the broker programme in force and the verification of each line. LotsBack publishes no figure beyond 12 months and makes no forecast of your volume.
